Speed Advisory (60 km/h)
All Kottayam Rentals scooters are monitored via GPS with a 60 km/h speed limit advisory in accordance with Kerala MVD road safety rules.
Monitored for rider security across Kerala highways and mountain terrain.
Required Documents
Mandatory ID Check- Indian Nationals: Original DL (1+ yr old) & Aadhaar / Passport.
- Foreign Nationals: Valid International Driving Permit (IDP) + Passport.
- Digital A4 sheets or expired licenses strictly not accepted.
Rental & Hours
Trip Hours & Grace- Minimum Rental: 12 Hours for local / round trips (>30 days monthly).
- Operating Hours: Pickups & drops closed 12:00 AM Midnight - 5:00 AM.
- Grace Period: 1 Hour grace period provided; late return fees apply.
Security Deposit Refund
5 Working Days- Refundable security deposit collected at delivery.
- Processed & refunded within 5 working days after return.
- FASTag toll charges, speed advisories, & damage inspection deducted if applicable.

- Early dropping of the vehicle is non-refundable.
- Booking amount is non-refundable.
Dear valued customer, thank you for renting with Kottayam Bikes. By approving these terms you acknowledge that you understand and agree to the conditions below.
Conditions
- No toll, parking permit and inter-state tax will be refunded.
- Delivery and pickup charges will be applicable.
- Customers are requested to carry an original driving license. This is mandatory.
- The vehicle has to be returned in the same condition as it was delivered at pickup.
- The vehicle has to be driven by the same customer who booked it, on their license.
- No transport of goods or people in violation of local laws, or against Excise, Customs and Narcotic laws.
- The vehicle should not be used for learning, sports, race, rallies or competitive events. If found, the advance amount will be forfeited.
- Any bills, other damages, and loss of accessories will be charged with a fine.
- If the vehicle is in an accident during the rental, the customer pays extra for a replacement vehicle.
- Traffic challans during the rental period are the customer's responsibility.
- Security deposit is refunded within 5 working days after the vehicle is returned.
- Damage cost up to ₹25,000 is the customer's responsibility and will not go for claim.
- Fuel level should be maintained. Excess fuel is not refunded. Any loss in fuel at return is charged.
- For damages claimed, the depreciation cost is borne by the customer.
- If the vehicle is returned very dirty, a service charge is deducted from the deposit.
Prohibited uses
- Any speed race or competition.
- Towing, pushing, or propelling another vehicle or trailer.
- Commercial passenger transport or taxi services.
- Driving under the influence of alcohol, drugs, or restricted medication. 0.0% tolerance.
- Committing any crime or illegal activity.
- Riding outside Kerala or in restricted areas.
- Using a mobile phone or communication device while driving.
- Transporting flammable, hazardous, or poisonous substances beyond household limits.
- Carrying objects that may damage the vehicle, affect handling, or protrude unsafely.
- Carrying more passengers than the bike or scooter allows. One rider and one pillion only.
Fines
- Smoking inside the vehicle: ₹750.
- Using alcohol inside the vehicle: ₹1,500.
- Late drop: ₹300 for each hour. After six hours, ₹650.
- Carrying pets or any animals: ₹1,000.
- Over speeding above 60 km/h: ₹1,500.
- Food waste found inside the vehicle: ₹400.
- Trying to open the vehicle with a wire or other device if you forget the key will be fined.
- If the key is lost, inform 70126 61155 or 815799599.
Cancellation and charges
- Users can cancel the booking subject to the conditions and charges.
- Early dropping of the vehicle is non-refundable.
- Booking amount is non-refundable.
- The customer pays the downtime payment for damages they cause.
Breakdown or incidents
- All breakdowns or incidents must be reported immediately. Jump start: 70126 61155.
- If you jump start the vehicle, inform us immediately by phone.
- If property or any third party is involved, the rider must file an official police report and, if possible, provide the date, time, and place.
- The customer's maximum liability is limited to 50% of the Insured Declared Value (IDV) of the vehicle as per the insurance policy.
